December 10th - A Cool Template for Everyone!

The amazing Jimdo user myTemplates from France has taken it upon himself to design additional layouts and styles for other Jimdo users, that are easy to use (through the personal layout interface, see the instructions below). His motto is "Color your Jimdo" and you'll see that the colorful, stylish, and elegant designs do just that!

Normally to get one of these designs you'd have to go to the myTemplates site and buy it. But... for a limited time only, we are giving away the design "Hawker03" to everyone as a holiday gift! But you can only download it for the next three days, so get it now! Isn't that great? If you like the design, don't wait around -- download it now! We'll be taking it down on Sunday.

How it works:

Step 1)

Download the ZIP-file at the bottom of the blog post and extract it into a folder of your choice.

Step 2)

Now you'll need to uplooad all the images to your Jimdo page. Here's how:

• Log into your Jimdo page
• Go to Layout -> Personal Layout -> Files and select alll the images you extracted from the ZIP file and upload them.

Step 3)

Now you'll need to take care of the HTML and CSS, but don't worry! Just open the .htm document from the ZIP file in a text editor (like Word, Notepad, Textwrangler, etc.) copy the entire contents and paste it in the "HTML" section.

Just do the same thing with the .css document, just make sure to paste the contents into the "CSS" section.

Don't forget to save! - That's it, you're done and the new design is online!

Bonus

In the folder "icone" you'll find a small image that you can use as the favicon (it's the icon that appears in the browser next to the website address/URL). To use it, just log in, go to Settings -> Website -> Favicon and upload it!
