Hot off the Presses: Jimdo gets Drag-and-Drop!

If you've been using Jimdo for a while, you probably remember our user survey last year. Being able to create your website usinig 'drag-and-drop' was one of the most-requested features. Our developers have been hard at work, burning the midnight oil to make this reality as quickly as possible.

How It Works

Just click on element you want to move, "hold it", and drag it to the new location, and "drop" it there. Voilá! But just pushing elements around on the page is not the end of the coolness of this new feature! With the new Jimdo Drag-and-Drop Clipboard you can do much much more:
You can drag as many elements as you want (entire photo galleries, texts, or videos) onto this clipboard. The clipboard is a new toolbar next to the Site-Admin in  edit mode. Then, you can drop them anywhere, even on another page of your site.

With the new drag-and-drop, it'll be easier and faster than ever to get your website looking the way you want. Take a look at the video to see just how much simpler:

Important: Please note that the drag-and-drop clipboard area is a temporary location. If you close your browser or leave your Jimdo site while editing, any elements still on the clipboard will be dropped back in their original locations! An element is only saved to its new location when it's dropped there!

Drag-and-drop is ready for you now! So log in and give our latest greatest feature a try! We hope that it'll speed and ease creating and updating your Jimdo site. Enjoy it and have fun!

I just tried the feature and it works on all my pages except my home page! When I log in, everything on my home page on the left column has vanished and I can't edit it. All the other pages work though. What can I do about this? Thanks!

Emi, that's really odd! We are trying to find and fix all the bugs that are turning up. Would you mind dropping an email to pro@jimdo.com with the problem and details like what browser you're using? Thanks.

Brian, when you drag an element up into the upper right corner of your site, the clipboard appears automatically.
