December 16 -- Handmade Accessories from Carolina Parisina

Update: Alex is the winner of the handbag!

Dillon, Colorado, a little town off of Highway 70 west of Denver, does not seem a likely spot for an international design boutique. Yet Dillon with its 800-odd inhabitants is home to Carolina Parisina, a designer label specializing in handmade accessories that used to be based in Madrid.

Over 5,000 miles separate Madrid from Dillon, but that did not stop Carolina and Mariano from making the great westward move in 2005. "We love creating all sorts of purses and accessories for casual people," says Carolina López de Blas. "Our goal is to create limited editions and unique items, made one by one with love and care."

Carolina and Mariano have put the same loving care into designing their website as they put into their accessories. Two neat features they offer are a museum of sold-out products (you have the option of asking them to replicate one) and a gallery of photos from around the world sent in by happy "Parisina" owners.

Carolina Parisina is giving away a handmade checkbook today - the winner may choose from the four below.

For a chance to win, just leave a comment here or retweet our daily tweet. This prize is available to visitors based in the US.
