December 18 -- Custom Jewelry from the Cape Verde Islands

Update: Today's winner is Larry Beaks!

Sandrine makes necklaces and armbands, colliers and earrings out of beads. But not just out of beads: if you look carefully at the colorful and lively jewelry she makes, you'll find shells and stones, here and there bits of crystal and even an old watch face! She sells her handmade pieces on her website,

"Unique people need unique pieces of jewelry," says Sandrine, and looking at the lovely images below it's hard to disagree with her. Today she is offering a custom-made piece of jewelry to one lucky reader. If you win today, you can ask Sandrine to design a necklace especially for you! The pictures below are just examples of how your new favorite accessory could look.

Sandrine lives and works on Cape Verde, and as she says, there is a little bit of the island in everything she makes. If you want to have Sandrine create a piece of custom jewelry for you, just leave a comment below or retweet our tweet of the day.
