How Social Media Can Help Your Business

    Hi Jimdo,
    When working in a profession were 'confidentiality' is 'priority 1' how and what social media sites could help my Counselling business. Attending counselling is not something a client wishes to talk about or broadcast over the air waves?

    Hi Michael,

    You bring up an interesting question. First off, as a mental health professional you'd have to separate your personal accounts from your business accounts. Clearly defining your reasons for being on social media and keeping in mind your professional code of ethics will help direct your social media practices. There are many ways in which social media can still be beneficial for you. One of the great things of online communities is that you are able to connect with other professionals, in your case counselors and therapists. Social networks can also be a place where you establish yourself as an expert in your field. Plus, it's a great way to keep up to date with the latest developments in your industry and to find useful information.     I was glad you asked this question about social media sites Michaelpryan. I also have wondered that same question and being a counselor myself have not found a way to implement the services I see others using for their businesses. I will also investigate the web address suggested to you.
