More Mobile Layouts to Get You Noticed on the Go

Smarter Looking Sites on Smartphones

When you hand someone your business card, email them from your business account, or even "friend" them on Facebook or other social networks, chances are that they'll take a moment out of their busy schedule to check out your website! Statistics show that, increasingly, they'll be doing this from a mobile device (over 15% all visits to all JimdoPro and JimdoBusiness sites come from smartphone users).

While your website may look great on a computer, it's quickly becoming essential that it looks good on the screen of your phone. If your website is too difficult to navigate on a mobile device and yet that is how your customers are viewing it, all of your hard work designing a great site may go to waste!

But do not fear - the Jimdo team is on it! For the past year, all Jimdo sites have already all been automatically displaying a mobile-optimized view when accessed on mobile devices. Until now, the mobile view looked the same for all sites, but today we've added new mobile layout options, for a total of six!

Choose Your Favorite Mobile Layout

To take advantage of these new mobile layouts, login to your JimdoPage and go to Settings > Mobile View. There you'll see a menu where you can select the layout that suits your mobile site best.

Click on a layout to preview how it will look on a mobile device. As soon as you hit save, the chosen layout will be active - it's that easy!

By the way - your mobile layout is completely independent of your standard web layout, so changing it won't affect how your site looks on a computer screen.

Thank you for your never-ending challenge for the customers. As I wanted to show how deeply I thank your effort, I've made a page for Jimdo on my web site (on Japanese version I like the page, which is funny. From Kyoto, in Japan

that's great, I'll take a look as soon as I get chance, but my first instinct is to keep the automatic mobile view that I have- so that it's consistent with the website when viewed in a browser.

Or do these templates work on the browser view AND mobile at the same time?

Claire, these new mobile layouts only affect the look of your site when it's viewed on a smartphone.

The new mobile layout options also work with any "regular" (desktop) layout that you're already using, but they each emphasize different aspects so you may want to take a look. There's a built-in preview in the SiteAdmin, so you can easily check all of them in a few minutes.

You know I love this team! One of the reasons I left my last host was because they refused to accept that a mobile view was important!, So thank you very very much.
I just went and chose my view, however, there was a slight glitch on logging out in that my homepage went to mobil view but that was easily remedied (I hope).
    Thank you again
