Last night we had a party at our San Francisco office for Jimdo users in the Bay Area. It was a lot of fun to talk face to face about the reasons people love to use Jimdo. We had a chance to chat about everyone's businesses, hobbies, backgrounds, and favorite films — somebody reminded me that I should rewatch Midnight in Paris.
For me, the party was a great reminder that Jimdo is a wonderful bridge between people: Everyone has their own reason for making a website, but we're all using the same tool, and we can all learn something from other people using Jimdo. In a sense, Decemberfest is about showing off how many different people there are behind the myriad Jimdo sites, and reminding us that building a website on Jimdo isn't a solo mission.
Susan Price keeps herself busy: she writes novels, has a blog, lectures in school, coaches amateur writers, and founded a collective of self-publishing British authors — plus she has four Jimdo sites. Susan has published tons of books for kids and young adults in a number of different genres. For Decemberfest, she's donating five of her books: Hauntings, Feasting the Wolf, Odin's Voice, A Feasting of Trolls, and Odin's Monster.
The books in this collection are varied, ranging from historical fiction to ghost stories. Whoever wins the box of books can have them personalized with a message and signature from the author, Susan Price. I want to thank Susan for offering up several of her books for Decemberfest, especially because it's a gift I didn't expect we'd have an opportunity to give away. It's excellent to have a dedicated author within the Jimdo community, particularly one who is so hard-working and generous.
