December 20th: Fiberglass Handicraft

This gift has been given away, but you can find a new gift by visiting the Decemberfest calendar!

Jimdo, meet Romero Potters Designs & Handicfrafts. Romero Potters Designs & Handicfrafts, meet Jimdo.

If you're as impressed by handcrafted fiberglass and ceramic sculptures as I am, you're going to love today's Decemberfest gift — pictured on the right. This tropical lizard holding a surfboard, as well as so many other great pieces, was hand-designed and hand-made by a team of artisans whose ability to manipulate fiberglass and ceramics is otherwordly. All their figures are made uniquely from those two materials, and as you can see, they take on a life of their own.

Iguanas and Chameleons and Giraffes. Oh my!

There's only one animal sculpture to give away today, but Romero Potters Designs & Handicrafts has a jungle of a collection on their website, where you're sure to find the perfect piece for your predilection. Each one is infused with the spirit of the artist, as well as the rich history of Mexican folk art.

Leave a comment below or retweet our daily Decemberfest tweet for your chance to win this awesome gift. Don't forget to make sure we have some way to get in touch with you in case you win. Commenting while logged into your Jimdo site is not required, but it's definitely the easiest solution.

The surfer lizard looks cool, sure! But go visit their website...
I love animals and the fact that they reproduce animal skins to hang on the wall or lay on your floor, just like hunters do, it tells me they don't love and respect nature and animals, but just want to make profit out of it.
There are so many ways of recreating animals and mix it with local folk traditions. Although it would make more sense if they used actual local animals and not african ones...
Moreover, their translation's in English are really bad... done with Google translator with no corrections at all (I am spanish mother tongue).
No guestbook nor comments form, making it impossible for visitors and customers to communicate openly. No FB or other Social Networks either, so there is no way to have reviews and open source feedbacks.
I would dig deeper before vouching for some company that likes showcasing animal skins (even if in fiberglass), and with a Jimdo website that is not really that good to promote this way.
Just because they offered a free gift for your Twitter followers in exchange of some visibility doesn't make it right!
There is much more in the world of communication and marketing, and I am sure it could be done a little bit better!

The handicraft is really very nice, but member "travelmyplanet" has an issue on the gift. Let us keep this Decemberfest truly nice and peaceful.
