Matthias studied business (among other things) at the universities of Kiel and Goteborg before he started a business with Fridtjof and Christian. Matthias takes care of Jimdo's (online) marketing. He escapes it all above the clouds -- gliding is his passion.

Fridtjof Detzner

Product Development, Design

Fridtjof and Christian started their first company, the web agency dream-up.de, while still in school. He founded another company with Christian and Matthias, then Jimdo in 2007. If Fridtjof's not in the office, he's pedalling his mountain or racing bike in the Alps, kitesurfing, or pursuing some other extreme sport.

Christian Springub

Jimdo USA

Christian started his first business at the age of 12 buying and reselling Kinder Surprise collectible toys at flea markets. Three years later he switched to creating websites for small businesses in his hometown with Fridtjof. Christian moved to San Francisco in 2011 to set up Jimdo in the USA.

Powen Shiah

U.S. Country Manager

Powen is responsible for the expansion of Jimdo in the U.S. He works on press, marketing, and community management for the English-speaking world. When he's not busy making Jimdo the greatest website creator in America, Powen enjoys photography, reading science fiction, and watching films from around the world.

William Molina

Email Support Geek

Helping people with their technology needs comes easy to William.  He came to Jimdo from EPA.net where he helped local businesses and organizations get online. When he's not answering tech support questions at Jimdo or at home, you might find him playing video games from the comfort of his couch.

Brent Gummow

Brent joined Jimdo in July 2011, bringing his many talents and fresh ideas to the US team. In his past (and current lives), he's played in a band, been a freelance web designer, run a recording company, and started an MBA. So you can see -- when we need something done, Brent's our man!

Publicity & Media Outreach Assistant

Ana joined the Jimdo team in January 2012; she focuses on increasing Jimdo's visibility in the USA through PR, media relations, and events. Ana comes from Southern California, where she worked at an interactive event photography company and studied Communication at the University of California Santa Barbara. Ana loves photography, culture, volleyball, spinning, and her two dogs and cat. She believes it's important to face your fears; you might also find her bungee jumping or trapeezing!

Kurt came to Jimdo in March 2012 via Apple, where he worked in customer support for several years before leaving the tech world briefly to help with a family business. When he's not helping the Jimdo community with the best support possible, you'll find him riding his road bike or working on his game on the golf course!

Mercedes Romero

Customer Support Geek - Spanish

Freelance photographer, designer, webmaster, journalist, online publisher -- it seems like Mercedes had done it all before she came to Jimdo in October 2011. A self-described internet addict, her true love is for her dogs: two beautiful schnauzers named Chikis and Lola. She can't wait to bring them from Tijuana, where she lived before coming back to San Francisco.

Carlos joined Jimdo in October 2011, bringing more Spanish to our US office! Originally from Mexico, where he studied law, Carlos worked in administrative and public relations before changing tracks to explore his true passion: computers (everything from websites to Linux-based OSs)! Lest you pigeonhole him, you're just as likely to find Carlos practicing Krav Maga or planning his next trip!

Lucas Millheim

Country Manager UK and Ireland

Lucas came to Jimdo in April 2011, navigating the broad waters between headquarters in Hamburg and the US office in San Francisco. Since 2012 he has turned his sights to Ireland and the United Kingdom, bring pages to island-dwelling people. His background is in journalism and translation. He's an avid guerilla camper and wants to sail around the world one day.

Sönke Ruempler

Besides his full-time job at Jimdo, Soenke is also studying information systems. Soenke has worked at Jimdo from the beginning. He not only works on the software development and system architecture, he's also the mentor and supervisor for our computer science trainees.

Boris Erdmann

Since we convinced Boris to join the Jimdo team at the end of 2007, he has been hacking new features for Jimdo all the live long day. By the way... he doesn't wear his Outback Jack hat very often.

Hinrich is one of the PHP developers at Jimdo. Before he joined the company in November 2007, he worked as a PHP freelancer, doctor, shepherd, and locksmith.

Martin Denk

In August 2007, Martin became Jimdo's first trainee, ever. He is Sönke's pride and joy (even if he only earned a B+ in his exams). In January 2010 he became a full-fledged member of the Jimdo development team... and his Atomic Bomberman skills are not insignificant, either!

Engin Ülkü

Engin joined our merry band of Jimdo developers in June 2010, after his education as what he calls "Jack of all trades developer". In addition to software programming, he also handles issues like payment and subscriptions.

Jan Brauer

Jan helps internal development processes run more smoothly and Jimdo become better! After studying computer science at the University of Hamburg, he worked for a corporate CMS provider. In his free time, Jan works with a Reggae soundsystem.

Christian "Z" Zielecki

Christian joined the Jimdo dev team in December 2010. As Christian #4 (we're running out of nicknames), he prefers just to be called "Z". His dual degree in information engineering and experience in the last five years as a PHP/Java developer and data security officer, set him up perfectly for Jimdo!

Sören joined Jimdo in March 2011 to bring more excellent features to our users. And we believe he can do it, with his experience at agencies large and small. Plus, he's a polyglot -- at least when it comes to Java, PHP, and Javascript.

Ilya joined the dev team in February 2011. A friend of "black screens with colored text", he brings quite a bit of experience. Ilya studied in St Petersburg and Hamburg and worked as freelancer before he came to us. He keeps an eye on the big picture: from elegant programming to perfect interfaces...

After finishing his Masters in Software System Engineering at the University of Lübeck, Tobias joined Jimdo's development team in May of 2011. In his free time he enjoys mountain biking and working out -- and at work, he's excited to build great software that's fun to use.

Robert Schulitz

Senior Web Developer

Robert started building new Jimdo features and designing structures for our data warehouse in June 2011. His experience comes from working for many years in various startups and companies as well as freelancing. Though he's a bit out of practice, Robert still cuts a rug as a ballroom dancer.

Joscha Meyer

Joscha threw in his lot with the Jimdo development team in August 2011, where he primarily works back-end development. Before Jimdo, Joscha worked at an agency and cajoled his colleagues into writing tests before pushing code to production. When he's not doing that, you might find Joscha fishing or playing Jugger.

Robert Kowalski

Since October 2011, there have been more people "speaking" Javascript in the office. The reason? We have one more Javascript nerd: Robert! Thanks to his experience in developing mobile websites and apps, he's the right guy to make Jimdo's user interface even more awesome!

Robin Drexler

Trainee (Focus on Programming)

Robin started his training at Jimdo as a programmer in November 2010. After completing his training program in Dresden as a technical assistant (computer science), he wanted to learn more, so he came to Jimdo. Robin's focusing on web development, and he's already an integral part of the team.

Michael Dunsky

System Administration

Michael's been Jimdo's system administrator since January 2008. He keeps the machines running while watching over and improving Jimdo's server infrastructure. Before he joined Jimdo, he worked as a server admin and in software development.

Daniel Bonkowski

System Administration

Daniel is Michael's long-awaited and very capable extra pair of hands. He watches over the servers, the Jimdo team's computers, and makes sure everything stays on track. Shortly before Daniel started at Jimdo (February 2009), he finished his training as an IT specialist for system integration.

Lars Fronius

System Administration & Integration

In July 2011, Lars joined Jimdo's sysadmin team. A systems integration specialist by training, his main project is improving Jimdo's server environment and setting up a central login system. Lars is excited to try something completely different with Jimdo!

Christian Schuldt

Christian, sometimes lovingly referred to as 3.0 (since he's the third Jimdo trainee and the third Christian in the Jimdo team), joined the Jimdo team as a trainee in IT/Systems Integration and has already helped more than his share of desperate colleagues with their computer problems.

Janina Christiansen

Design

Janina is trained as media designer, with a focus on digital and print design. She creates new layouts for Jimdo and implements them.

Jörn Schreiber

Interface Design

Jörn has been at Jimdo since May 2009. He works on improving and developing the user interface, as well as designing and conception of new features. Before starting at Jimdo, he studied media design and worked for for several years in interface design and usability optimization.

Björn Mußmann

Web Design

We couldn't put it better: according to Björn himself, since he started at Jimdo in June 2010, his responsibilities as a web designer have settled somewhere between summer fun of CSS and the winter wonderland of HTML. You can read on his website about his experiences thus far.

Jill Heyer

Web Design

In July 2010, Jill left the colorful world of advertising to join us here in Jimdo's (equally exciting) web world. She's happily pushing pixels for banners and beautifying Jimdo.com. In her free time, she's been studiously learning new languages (like Javascript).

Nadja is also a trained digital media designer. As a freelancer, she creates and implements new layouts for Jimdo.

Kerstin Ebert

Video and Screencast Artist

Kerstin's in charge of all things "video" at Jimdo. Before she landed here, she worked as a creative producer for an ad agency in Hamburg. She's dedicated her free time to one goal: being able to play drums for all the songs on Rock Band in expert mode. We can't wait!

Jan Schlie

Jan studied media design in Salzgitter, Germany, and spent his intern (and last) semester at Jimdo. He's been helping out our design team since February 2011, and is enjoying the side benefits of working in Hamburg: being near water and able to quickly run out with his surfboard...

Lasse Diercks

Design

After finishing up his digital and print media design training in Hamburg, Lasse joined Jimdo's designers in September 2011. Not only is he helping out with the design team's work, he's also working closely with the online marketing team. For Lasse, great music is just as important as great coworkers, which will make this guitar player a hit in the office!

Svenja Pokora

Communications Manager

Since August 2007, Svenja has been responsible for internal and external communications at Jimdo, as well as the content on Jimdo.com. She finds new energy and unusual inspiration at her sewing machine and while doing Bikram yoga.

Alina Atzler

Alina studied social science in Oldenburg and has been working on Jimdo's business development and marketing since May 2008. When she's not in the office, she devotes herself completely to photography, vaulting (on horses), and to traveling the world.

Ria Voß

Community Rocker

Ria's been rocking the socks off the Jimdo community since in July 2011. She studied sports science and journalism and now bridges our marketing and support teams, watching over JimdoFriends and community initiatives. In her free time, she loves to travel, short trips to London or to the Eurovision Song Contest finals -- wherever they happen to be -- or she's catching up on one of her beloved TV shows.

Katharina Mock

Katharina joined the marketing team in November 2010, and she's definitely a welcome addition! She works on making Jimdo more well-known in that little place called the Internet. Katharina's family takes the biggest place in her heart... say hello to Jimdo's first mom!

Stefanie Grunwald

The multi-talented Steffi has moved her desk! Starting in September 2011, instead of backoffice and support team coordination, she joined the online marketing team. There, she's putting her computer science background to use as the "Tycho Brahe of Online Marketing", primarily collecting and analyzing data. And if that's not enough: Steffi has been studying astrophysics on the side since 2010.

Anja Christian

Anja joined the online marketing team in December 2011, where she primarily works on developing and coordinating display ads. With her experience as an art director, in design, print, project management, and customer care, she's perfect for the job. And she's ready to give Fridel a run for his money in bike racing!

Nicole Bohnholt

A recent transplant from Munich, Nicole's been busy learning all about Hamburg. After studying business in college, she worked in traditional marketing, but the online world proved more interesting. After working in a few other areas of online marketing, Nicole took on the challenge of search engine optimization. In December 2011, she joined the fight for good as Jimdo's SEO superwoman!

Hendric Rüsch

Hendric's journey has taken him from studying the social sciences to a deep fascination with the social web. He joined the Jimdo team in February 2008 and is responsible for partnerships, the Jimdo affiliate program, and social media. Hendric is extremely proud to call Hamburg home.

Daniel's been around almost since the very beginning. In 2005 he started working at NorthClick, Jimdo's "mothership", as a project manager. Since February 2010 he's been at Jimdo, responsible for partner program and online collaborations.

Kathleen is responsible for everything in the realm of accounting and controlling at Jimdo. She's been part of the team since January 2009 and is currently finishing her degree in Controlling and Marketing at the University of Applied Science in Stralsund.

Dennis Manzke

Treasurer

Having lived in Bremen and now Hamburg, northern Germany's Hanseatic cities are not new to Dennis, but the world of the internet is. He worked at a company in Bremen for nine years before coming to Jimdo in December 2011. Dennis is working on setting up Jimdo's controlling (accounting) system -- and Kathleen's happy to have the help. As a volleyball coach, his skills will be put to test at Jimdo's regular beach volleyball matches. Game on!

Magdalena Bethge

Office & Sprint Organizer Extraordinaire

After studying sports at university in Kiel, Magda worked as a sports therapist until Jimdo found her in July 2011. As our resident organizer, she doesn't just make sure that office is a fun and comfortable place to be, she also takes charge of whatever else needs doing. Whether it's dancing, jogging, or yoga, Magda's always in motion -- and you can't miss her: the next office aerobics session is already in the works!

Amaradjan "Sam" Samake

Sam grew up in Côte d'Ivoire, where he learned his love of cooking from his mother. Starting in December 2011, Sam and his lunches have been the cherry on the sundae of working at Jimdo's Hamburg office! After working as a cook in a restaurant in Hamburg, Sam worked for three years at a top London restaurant. Now he's spoiling the Jimdo team with cuisines from around the world - it's no wonder that we love walking into the kitchen. Sam's wish for 2012? Learning to ski from Fridel!

Jimdo really lucked out, snapping up Tom as an 1st-class addition to our support team. An IT- and telecommunications-systems technician by training, he's an old-hand at user support, bringing six years of experience. Count yourselves lucky if one of Tom's sunny answers graces your inbox.

Fritz is a real veteran of Jimdo support. He's been part of the Jimdo team since the very beginning and can answer all your questions in his sleep. He has a secret weakness for cup of noodles and other 5-minute foods, even though he's actually a really great cook.

Inga's quick on her feet -- having studied sport science, she loves challengs and feels best when things are in motion! She made the jump to the virtual world via eLearning at university. Before Jola came to Jimdo, this graphic-designer-by-training worked with many customers in her first career and found she liked that part of the job the best. In January 2011, she followed that thread to Jimdo's support team, giving our users a helping hand in questions large and small.

Eike comes to us straight from Leipzig, where she studied Spanish and Portuguese and worked in customer support on the side for Spreadshirt. Perfect training for taking care of all payment process related issues at Jimdo! Eike loves films, live concerts, and traveling the world, but for now she's happy to return to Hamburg and get to know the city again.

Mathilde Kurz

Mathilde studied information science and communications in Paris and Berlin before joining Jimdo in October 2008. Since June 2011, she has been responsible for Jimdo in France and other Francophone countries. Mathilde also manages the French affiliate and partner programs.

Guillaume Baligand

We welcomed Guillaume in July of 2010, when he started working on community management, PR, and online marketing for France. Even his musical hobbies found a home here (he plays guitar, bass, and drums). Guillaume's become our resident party and campfire guitarist.

In May 2011, Hélène joined us to watch over the French-speaking Jimdo community and to send delightful surprises to Jimdo users all over the world. Before working at Jimdo, Hélène studied the unusual combination of Egyptology, gemology, and marketing in Paris.

Eila is responsible for Jimdo's presence in Spanish-speaking countries, for which she coordinates public relations and marketing. On top of that, she's also a member of Jimdo's online marketing team.

Evelyn hails from Bolivia, but has called Hamburg home for many years. Previously, she studied Intermational Business and Marketing, and beginning in July 2010, she has been responsible for Jimdo's marketing and communications in the Hispanophone world.

If you've written support since Nov 2009, you've likely heard from Jaime. He hails from Colombia, where he attended a German school; now he studies political science at the University of Hamburg. he updates the Spanish blog and Twitter. As you might expect of a South American, he loves to salsa.

Lucía comes from the southwest of Spain and answers Spanish-speaking Jimdo users' questions super fast! She also does a lot of translation for Jimdo. What else does Lucía like to do? Go on holiday!

Jose is a translator, teacher, photographer, and surfer, and his first tour with Jimdo was back in 2009. We're happy he's part of the Spanish support team!

When Monica moved to Hamburg from Italy, she "only" wanted to learn German, but she ended up with so much more. She's not only fallen in love with Hamburg, but she's also been a pillar of the Jimdo team since 2009. As the "Head of Italy" she works on Jimdo's Italian community, search engine optimization, and partners.

Daniel was born in Chile, grew up in Hamburg, and studied archaeology in Italy. He's our resident polyglot, speaking four languages fluently, which makes him hard to categorize on this page! Since April 2010, he's been helping out Italian-, Spanish-, German-, and English-speaking Jimdo users.

Anastasia watches over the Russian-speaking Jimdo community. She takes care of our Russian users not only with her technical expertise (she's a computer scientist), but with good advice and support as well.

Nadezda has become our "first responder" for support questions from Russian-language Jimdo users. She's also learning Chinese and has the honor of being the first professional chess player at Jimdo!

After going to university in Hamburg, Paulina went to work as a project manager in Warsaw -- but Hamburg's siren song called her back! Working for Jimdo is the icing on the cake. Paulina describes herself as lively, creative, a little chaotic, with a particular love for travel, music, and sports. In November 2011, she joined forces with Magdalena to keep Jimdo rocking in Poland!

Luuk is responsible for Jimdo's activities in the Netherlands, from marketing to public relations to supporting local users. In his free time, he keeps himself busy with sports and travel.

Yan Qing Shi started working at Jimdo China in March 2010. She takes care of customer support, as well as marketing and sales for Jimdo in China.


Yu Duo

Community Support

Yu Duo has been part of Jimdo's team in Shanghai since May 2011. She takes care of the problems users may be having and helps them on their way to building a successful website. When Yu Duo needs some R&R, she likes to watch documentaries or paint.

Wang Ling

Marketing Assistant

In August 2011, Wang Ling started working for Jimdo in Shanghai, and on his very first day he felt like part of the family. He's responsible for Jimdo's general marketing as well as internet marketing in China. In his free time, he enjoys reading novels and going to the movies.

Teppei Takahata

Teppei is responsible for all marketing and sales activities in Japan. Also he is a senior-vice president of SMB at KDDI Web Communications, Inc., Japan.

Takeo Komai

Takeo is responsible for the expansion of Jimdo in Japan. He manages the sales, support, press, and marketing activities in Japanese market. When Jimdo founders arrive in Japan, his home turns into “Jimdo Hotel”.

Miki Sato

Miki has worked in a top enterprise in the IT industry for several years and joined the Jimdo team in July 2010. Her knowledge and experience help her support Jimdo users speedily and empathically. On holiday, she enjoys playing the cello.

Hiromitsu Miyanishi

IT Manager, Jimdo Japan

Hiromitsu is responsible for all the IT & technical side of Jimdo Japan. He is also general manager of the technical team at KDDI Web Communications.

Moja

This sweet Magyar Vizsla dog is a few (maybe more than a few) inches taller than our other office dog Paco, but she's still absolutely cute. Not only are the human Jimdo team members in love with her, we think Paco has a bit of a crush as well.

Fips

When Eike joined Jimdo, Fips "moved" into the office too. Jimdo's latest canine addition has a few years under his belt. The Jack Russel mix was born in 1997! (What's that in dog years?) As befits his age, Fips is usually practicing his favorite activity: relaxing. But he's got a mind of his own -- sometimes Eike has to wait for hours in the winter cold before Fips is back from the hunt. His favorite prey is plastic bottles, which he bites right on the bar code -- there goes the deposit!
