Accessing Email

After creating an email account, you will need to log into our webmail system or setup an email client in order to read and send your messages.

Logging Into Webmail

Open the webmail's login page at https://webmail.jimdo.com. Your webmail session will run through a secure connection so no data will be sent in plain text. If you encounter problems using SSL you can alternatively try out the unencrypted access to your mail account via http://webmail.jimdo.com.

Enter your entire email address into the field "Email Address", e.g. name@mydomain.com. Remember the password you chose upon creating your mail account? Just enter it below.

If you've forgotten your password, log into your JimdoPage and go to Settings > Email and Domain Management > Email Accounts and then click on the button to change the password.

Checking the little box at Remember my info will store your login data to automatically enter it for you next time you visit webmail.

Please Note: Saving your login information when working at publicly accessible computers will enable everyone who works at the same computer to access your email account. Therefore, only mark the check-box if you can ensure that nobody but you has access to the computer that the information will be stored on.

Setting Up an Email Client

Your account will be hosted by Rackspace. Rackspace offers some great tutorials on setting up a desktop email client, setting up a mobile email client, and using Webmail.

Please Note: Your email username is your entire email address

Settings for your Email Client

Use these settings to send and receive email through your email client over a secure connection (SSL). It makes sense to utilize this if many people are using the same network (like in schools, universities, offices) or if you sometimes use open or public internet connections (coffee shops, libraries).
