File Download

If you want to put photos, documents or files of any kind on your website for visitors to download, this is the element to use.

You can add file download icons and links to your JimdoPage, in the form of this file download module. The link will consist of a title in bold, a description, the file name, the file type, the file size and a file icon. 

Select a file from your computer by clicking the "Browse" button, then click on "Upload document" to upload it to your website. You can also upload a document from your Dropbox account (if you have one) by clicking on the Dropbox icon.

The maximum size for uploaded files is 5 MB with JimdoFree and 100 MB with JimdoPro and JimdoBusiness.

The title of your file that will be displayed in bold. It doesn't need to be the same as the file name.

A text that describes your file in more detail, if necessary.

Sometimes adding a normal download element can disturb the reading process, so it can be useful to link a section of your text to a download element instead.

However, this function is only available to JimdoPro and JimdoBusiness users, as JimdoFree users do not have static file download links.

JimdoPro and JimdoBusiness users can right-click on the file download module and copy the link location, then use that permanent url to link text within a text field.
