Photo Gallery
A photo gallery is the Jimdo way of showing more than one picture at once on your JimdoPage. For example, if you have three pictures of your dog you want to show your friends, the easiest way to do it is with a Photo Gallery element.
Instead of adding single images to your Jimdo page, you can create an entire gallery of photos to show your visitors.
HTML/gallery and compact view
Format
This option allows you to pick one of two formats for your gallery, the HTML/Gallery format and the Flash format.
HTML/Gallery Format
This format displays thumbnails of your pictures in a simple grid.
Proportions
You can choose from the original and the square proportion. The original proportion displays the pictures in their original formats, while the square proportion shows only square-shaped sections of the images, to maintain a uniform look.
Size
This function allows you to increase or decrease the size of the visible thumbnails. This may require you to wait a little bit, while the server is recalculating the picture sizes.
Style
With this function you can set the frame style for your gallery: no frame, small frame or large frame.
If enabled, visitors will have the option to view the images in your photo gallery in full size by clicking on the previews.
Flash format
Using the Flash format will let visitors see your gallery in the form of a slide show.
Please Note: If you have a lot of pictures in your gallery, switching to the Flash format may take a little while, as the server is recalculating the images.
Delay
The delay represents the amount of time it takes until the next picture in the slide show will be loaded (in seconds).
Start now?
The option "Start now?" lets you specify whether the slide show should start automatically or only when the visitor clicks the "Play" button.
View
There are two views available: compact and detailed view. This option has no influence on how visitors will see the gallery - it's solely for editing purposes.
Compact View
Compact view displays the pictures in a grid. You can change each picture's position via Drag & Drop - just move your mouse over one of the images, hold down the left mouse button and drag the image anywhere else inside the grid.
Detailed View
Detailled view displays the pictures as a list. It allows you to allocate subtitles to your pictures, add links, or even rotate them by 90 degrees. Changing the picture's positions works just like in the compact view.
Upload
This function prompts the image upload window. Click the "Browse" button to select one or more images on your computer, then click "Upload" to transmit them to your website. Click "Delete" to remove a picture, in case you made an error. For more information on the allowed image formats, see: Image Formats.
Don't forget to click the "Save" button to make your changes visible for others!
