Text

This sentence was written using a text element. It's the easiest way to put writing on your website - on any page you like, or even in the sidebar (remember, the sidebar appears on every page of your website).

The Basics

Adding a Text Element

Just move your mouse over an element on your website and click on the + symbol where you want to add text. It looks like this:

As you can see from the picture, you can also move the new text element up or down, or delete it if you decide you don't want it anymore. When you click on the plus sign, a text box will appear. Type the text you want to add in this box and format it the way you like.

The Text Editor

If you've ever used word processing software before, most of the symbols will be familar to you. If not - try it out! You can always delete the element by clicking on the trashcan to the left.

Important: If you write in Microsoft Word or another word processor, make sure you highlight your text and click the eraser symbol before you save the pasted text. This will remove any unnecessary formatting that may cause problems with your text elements.

Don't forget to press Save when you're finished - otherwise you'll see a funny-looking << New Text >> marker where the unsaved element is.

Advanced Features

The HTML button on the far right of the text box lets you view and modify the HTML code directly. This is helpful if you want to set anchor tags, change the spacing, or modify the font of an individual text area.
