Settings
In the settings tab of the "Store" menu, you can change the basic settings of your store.
Currency
Currency allows you to set the currency of your store. So, for example, if you live in the U.S., you can set the currency to U.S. Dollar. If you live in Japan, you can set the currency to Japanese Yen. Make sure your currency is set correctly on there!
Email Address for Your Store
Right below the currency, you can edit the Email address for your store. When you receive a new order in your store, this is the email address to which the order notifications will go. Also, when customers receive a confirmation email about their orders, this is the email that will be displayed in case they have any questions.
Tax
If sales tax applies in the area in which you live, this is where you can set its rate. You have the option to show store items with or without tax included.
The value added tax identification number (VATIN), also known as the value added tax registration number, is issued to companies doing businesses in an area (often the EU) where a value added tax exists.
When upgrading to a paid version of Jimdo, you have the option of entering the VAT identification number of your business. However, Jimdo's order system only accepts (and validates) numbers from the EU VAT registries.
If you need your VAT identification number from a non-EU country to show on your invoice, please insert in the 2nd address line field.
Item Availability
Set the messages that you'd like to display when your item is in stock or when it is sold out. You have the option of displaying a separate message when you have a limited number of items left. This is useful for customers to see what items are available but also for you as the store owner to see where you need to stock up again.
Estimated Delivery Time
Let your customers know when the item is ready to be shipped out, if there will be a delay or even if it takes longer than usual.
Item Numbers
If you have dozens or even hundreds of items in your online store, you might consider giving your items numbers make your recording keeping simpler.
Send a shipment notification to customers
Select this option if you want customers to automatically be sent an email when you click on the "Mark sent" button in your Pending Store Orders menu.
Payment Options
PayPal
Taking credit and debit card payments on your online store is easy with PayPal on your Jimdo site. If you have this payment option selected, you must to input information that you will receive when you sign up with PayPal. For more information, please read Setting Up Paypal.
Invoice
Select this option to invoice your store customers for payment.
Local Delivery
Would your customers be able to pay you when you deliver them their items? Select this option for your online store.
Local Pickup
When your customers prefer to pick up the item at your location, you can give them the choice to pay once they get there.
Check (by mail)
For customers who would rather send a check in the mail, you can set this as an option for them.
Test Order
Important! Once you think your store is all ready to be launched, activate this option so you can test the order process that your customers will go through.
As a visitor, go to your website and add a few items to your shopping cart. Once you have made sure that the shopping cart is in order, proceed to the checkout. Next, as a payment option, you can choose "Test Order." You will then be required to enter in your information, as if you were a customer.
When the order is complete, you, as the store owner, will receive an email at the email address that you entered at Settings > Store > Settings > Email address for your store. This email will give you a summary of the customer's order and his shipping information.
In addition to that email, you will receive an email at the customer email address that will look like the one that is used to inform the customer about the order.
Shipping Costs
Set the charges for shipping costs. You can set separate shipping costs for both standard as well as international shipping.
Default Shipping Cost
Do all your items have the same shipping cost? You can set that for all your items here. Please note: if you already have set individual shipping
costs for specific items, this will override that.
Maximum Shipping Cost per Order
Should customers buying multiple items only have to pay shipping costs once - or only up to a certain amount? Here's where you can set the maximum shipping cost. Please note: this sets the
maximum shipping costs for an entire order in the shopping cart, not individual products.
Free Shipping for Large Orders
Should your customers receive free shipping if the order is of a certain size? Enter that amount here.
Tax on Shipping Costs
This tax on shipping charges will be included in the VAT breakdown in the shopping cart. The VAT shown in your customer's shopping cart will include the tax for the merchandise and for shipping.
Countries
Here, you can select the countries that you want to ship your items to. You can select worldwide shipping or choose specific countriesby region. Once you click on a region, another window will appear in which you can select the country or countries within that region that you are willing to ship your products to.
TOS, Return Policy, etc.
You can let your customers know what your Terms of Service, Return Policy, and Privacy Statement are by entering it all here. Once you enter in the information in their respective fields, a link for that information will automatically appear at the footer of your site for customers to click on.
Emails and Text
Email salutation
Enter a salutation here (for example "Hello" or "Dear customer") for emails sent automatically. With the placeholder "Salutation" you can use the greeting you entered to address your customers in emails.
Order Confirmation Email
Your customers receive this message after completing an order. Write this email however you would like. Please note: in this message, your customer will automatically receive a summary of the order, so you don't need to include that.
Important: Provide your full contact information here as well!
Shipping Confirmation Email
As soon as you mark the order "sent" in the store management interface, the customer will receive this email automatically. Edit the message here.
International Shipping Info for Customers
Additional costs may apply to orders shipped internationally. You can use this section to inform your customers about these.
Completed Checkout Note
Your customers will see a "thank you" note at the end of the order process. Personalize the following thank you message.
Checkout Form
This is the form that your customers will use to enter in their information. You can choose what pieces of information to include and what to leave out. If there is information that is required for the order, you can check the box next to it.
