Jimdo empowers people to create their own websites without technical skills or coding knowledge. Jimdo's strengths are great usability (we have passionate users pushing 70), a high degree of visual flexibility (it's very easy to integrate your own design), and high-quality integration of photos, videos, and text. Over 5 million users around the world are already building their websites with Jimdo -- and we're continuing to grow exponentially. Last year we opened an office in San Francisco and doubled our team.

We're looking for you, Mobile Developer Extraordinaire, to help us build a smashing mobile app so our users can edit their JimdoPages on the go. After all, we all know that only fresh, up-to-date websites are interesting websites.

We're a motivated team of bright minds, and we have great fun giving our all to create the best product for our users. We love Kanban, and we try to make our office and our company a great place to work.

We encourage everyone who joins the team to visit the US office in San Francisco once a year. You could combine this with a West Coast holiday ;-)

This position is full-time and located at our headquarters in Hamburg.

What we're building

A mobile-optimized experience for our 5-million plus existing users.

For example: Need to fire off a post in a hurry? Post a comment or just check the number of visitors? With your help, we'll have this and more covered. Jimdo is going mobile and we need you to ensure that the simplicity and fun of Jimdo is embodied in the touch screen interface of the iPhone and Android, etc. In short the experience needs to flow naturally and feel intuitive.

We want to build up a small, agile mobile team and want you! Sound good? Then send us your CV!

MobilePages to the People!

Who we're looking for

  • The best thing would be if you've already built AppStore or Android Marketplace apps. If so, send them on. If you built them as part of a team, please tell us which parts you were responsible for.
  • It'd be great if you have some Objective-C, Java experience. If not, experience with cross-platform frameworks like Appcelerator Titanium would be interesting.
  • Knowledge of advanced client-side technologies like HTML5, Javascript APIs, and CSS3.
  • You prefer REST to SOAP and would love to tell us why.
  • Bonus points for: CoffeeScript, Node.js
  • Knowledge of design patterns and MVC would also be great.
  • Finally, a view of the bigger picture (what makes a product great and not just functional) would be the icing on the cake.
