Hamburg, September 3, 2009 - Jimdo, an online website building service, expands its product line with a new offering: JimdoBusiness. Until now, Jimdo users could only choose from two options: JimdoFree, the free version for basic use, and JimdoPro, the premium version for advanced users. In JimdoBusiness, small- and medium-sized businesses find a web solution tailored to their needs.
"Right now, JimdoPro is used by many small businesses, organizations, and, freelancers," says Matthias Henze, one of Jimdo's three founders, "however, many JimdoPro users have been asking about an expanded option with additional email addresses or more domains, for example." For these customers, the startup has put together JimdoBusiness. The new option offers more than the existing premium version, JimdoPro: it includes two domains instead of just one, 10 times as much storage (50GB), five email accounts and unlimited aliases (forwarding addresses), exclusive business layouts, and top-priority support. Beyond that, JimdoBusiness-users can create as many different password-protected areas as they want - for different clients, for example - while JimdoPro users can create five, and JimdoFree users can set up just one.
The Jimdo creators continue to follow their philosophy of pricing products to be affordable. The monthly fee of $10 is, for the business market, very competitive.
"From our own experience, we know how much work it is to start a company, and that in the beginning, every penny counts, " explains Matthias Henze. "We want to make sure with Jimdo and particularly with the new JimdoBusiness option, that no company need pinch pennies on one of the most important fronts -- its website. We just don't need to charge more than $10 for JimdoBusiness to provide a quality product and still make money."
Jimdo's goal of becoming the standard for simple and professional website creation draws closer with the introduction of the JimdoBusiness. It is a logical expansion of the company's motto, from bringing "pages to the people" to bringing "pages to business people".
Jimdo -- Pages to the People (http://www.jimdo.com) was founded in February 2007 by three young entrepreneurs Christian Springub, Fridtjof Detzner, and Matthias Henze. In 2004, the three founded a company together on an old farmhouse, NorthClick, now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jimdo. The web technology that powers Jimdo was first developed for NorthClick's business clients to edit and update their sites more easily, but frequent requests from friends gave the founders the idea to offer free Jimdo Pages. Since then, the website creator has been supported by leaders like the Samwer Brothers (alando, jamba) and United Internet (GMX, web.de, 1&1) who have invested in the web startup. In August 2009, the 1,000,000th Jimdo site went online.
