About the Jimdo-Blog

The Jimdo-Blog consists of two different elements.

  1. The Blog-Module manages everything around the blogposts. Get more information here.
  2. The Blog Display element to integrate your blog into your JimdoPage.

If you haven't write any blogpost yet, go on with the Blog-Modul and write a post first.




The Blog Display-Element


By placing the Blog Display-Element, you decide where and how your blog should be displayed on your page. If you log into your page and create a new "Blog Display-Element", you'll see a window like the image one on the right side. Place the element wherever you like to display your blogposts.


You'll find any essential element in our image on the right side. Just hover the elements with your mouse to get a short tool tip.


To get more information about an element, just press it using the left mousebutton.

Create the blogdisplay-element



Decide where your blog should be displayed. Simply choose one of your pages and create an new element.
Pick the Blog Display-element and you'll see you first posts.

Number

Set the maximal number of bloposts.
If you have written five blogposts and set the number to four, you won't see your fifth blogpost.
If you like to display all posts, just write "all" into the field.

Categories

Click into the categories filed and you'll see all assigned categories.
Chose one or more categories to display only blogposts which belongs to these categories.
If you like to assign new categories, use our Blog-Modul.
To show all blogposts just type all into the field.

Excerpt Length

The Excerpt Length set the maximal number of elements previewed of each blogpost.
If your blogpost contains two text-elements, you'll only see the first one if you set Except Length to 1.
Use this option to give readers a short preview of you posts.

Teaser

The display option Teaser shows only a preview of you blogposts. Determine the amount of preview content with the Excerpt Lenght.

Posts

This display option will always show the whole blogpost as preview.

Comments

Comments shows the number of comments already given. Comments will be never displayed into the Blog Display-element. They only appear in the original blogpost.
