What's Dropbox?

Dropbox is a very nifty web service for storing stuff online: pictures, documents, videos, and more. You can access Dropbox and your files from anywhere using a computer or mobile device, and sharing is easy, too. Read up on Dropbox and create an account for free here.

Jimdo and Dropbox

The idea is simple: by integrating Dropbox into your Jimdo site, you can add pictures and files to your JimdoPage from Dropbox - anywhere you are, from any computer.

You can update your JimdoPage when you're on vacation, or several people in different parts of the world can all work on a Jimdo website without having to email files back and forth. Or you can just store your files in Dropbox and update your site from any computer.

Linking Jimdo to Dropbox

Go to Settings --> Tools and click on the Dropbox icon:

Then on "Link your Dropbox account and your JimdoPage". If you're already logged into Dropbox, you'll be asked to allow Jimdo to connect with your account. That's it!

Note: Just repeat the process to unlink your Dropbox account.

Loading Files from Dropbox

Once you've linked your JimdoPage and Dropbox account, you can access the files in your Dropbox account anywhere you can upload files on your JimdoPage. Transferring files from Dropbox is as easy as uploading them from your computer -- and much faster!

  • Add a new element
  • Click on the Dropbox icon
  • Select the file you want to use

Note: If other people have access to your JimdoPage which is linked to your Dropbox account, they'll be able to add all files in your Dropbox to your JimdoPage.
