Google Search for Your Site

Before you can add Google Custom Search to your Jimdo site, you'll need to register for a Google Account. If you don't already have a Google Account, sign up for one.

Getting Started
Take some time and read through all the instructions in this article. Pay attention to our tips and notes which will help you set up search on your site. If you have questions, you can always get in touch with us.
- Open your Jimdo page and log in
- Open a new browser window or tab and go to http://google.com.
Preparing Your Jimdo Site
Go to your Jimdo page, make sure you are logged in, and create a new page in the Navigation.
You can name this page whatever you want, but we recommend you call it Search, so that your search results will show up under www.yourdomain.com/search/ . Don't forget to hide the page by clicking on the eye icon on the right.Creating a Custom Search Engine
Now, log into your Google Account. Create a Google Account if you don't have one. Click on the link below (or copy it into the address bar of your browser).

Click on the Create a Custom Search Engine button. The next page has a form, where you can set up a custom search engine. Enter a name and description for your search engine:
What should be searched?
This is an important step in setting up your custom search engine.
Choose here which sites you want to be searched. We recommend that you select the first option.
In the next section, enter the address of the websites through which your search engine should search.
