Table
From Jimdo Help
Need to display information in an organized and structured manner? Why not do it with a table? Check out the different functions of our "Table" element for more details about each. To see what each function is, roll your mouse over that button on your table until text appears.

Text formatting options
These are the buttons that you see along the top. The buttons included are bold, italics, font colors, lists and so on. You can learn more about these options at our Text help article.
Inserting a new table
This is the first button from left to right, towards the bottom. Clicking on this button will bring up a window that will allow you to add a new table or, if you have it selected, make changes to the one that is already there.
General
Once the pop-up widow comes up, you will see the "General" tab. This tab will give you control over how many columns and rows you would like to add. You can also set the cellpadding, cellspacing and border.
Alignment will allow you to choose the place where you want to have the table appear within your content area; center, left and right.
Width and height will let you adjust the total size of the table.
By setting a class, you will be able to add more modifiers to it through CSS.
The Table caption checkbox will summon an extra cell at the very top of the table so that you can add a name or a year, depending on what your table is about.
Advanced
The advanced tab will bring up more options for your table. Here, you can set its Id, summary, style, language code, frame, rules and language direction.
If you don't consider yourself an "Advanced" user, you can still experiment with the table's background image, border color as well as background color.
Modifying table rows and columns
Rows
The following three buttons will allow you to add or remove rows. In order to have these options work correctly, make sure that your cursor is on the row that you want to apply this change to. Otherwise, you might end up making the change in the wrong place.
If you're familiar with HTML, you will see that these buttons add or remove <tr> tags in your table.
Columns
The three next buttons have essentially the same functions as the rows buttons but of course, applied for columns. You can choose to create a new column before or after the location where your cursor currently is or delete it altogether.
Once again, if you know HTML, these buttons will create or remove <td> tags in their respective areas.
Merging and splitting cells
Merge Table Cells
If you have cells that you would like to merge, first, you have click on the starting one and drag until you have selected the cells that you want to combine. If you then click on this button, your cells will merge into one bigger cell that spans the size of the rest of the table.
Split Merged Table Cells
If you decide that you didn't want to have those cells combined, click on that new, huge cell and then click on this button. Your cells should then revert to the way that they were before you merged them. Just note that the cells will split, but whatever information was in it, will stay in that first cell. You will have to separate it manually.
