Under Construction

If you're still working on your site and don't want visitors to see changes as they are happening, try this solution!

1. Create a new page by clicking on the paper icon in the navigation and name it something like, "Under Construction." You can set this page to be the new "homepage" by clicking on the up arrow until it reaches the top so that your visitors will see this page when they visit your site.

2. For the rest of the pages in the navigation, click on the eye-shaped icon to set them in "hidden mode." This will remove the links to these pages from the navigation as well as from the sitemap. Once the pages are hidden, you will still be able to see and navigate to them while you're in "Edit Mode" and, most importantly, you will be able to add content to them.

Note: You (or site visitors) can still visit hidden pages if the direct URL to it is known.

3. On your new "under construction" page, write a message to let visitors know that your site is still in development.

If you like the "Under Construction" image to the right, visit our blog to download it.

Tip: If you're a JimdoPro or JimdoBusiness user, you can also encourage visitors to sign up for your Newsletter so that you can let them know when your site is "live."

In addition to hiding your pages, you can also set Password-Protected_Areas to them in case someone knows the URL to those pages.
