- membership tool
- other language in the forms maybe: Danish
- make it so we could make the forms or self´s
- more layouts...

Hey guys,

I love your service! I was referred by a friend who spoke about the ease of use. I was skeptical until I actually signed on. It is worth the hype.

A couple of requests in order of importance:
1. I would like an easy way to move an element from one page to another. I live in Africa where it is a pain to upload anything. A primitive solution would be to add an option next to the element, with a drop down list of available pages. By default, it could just put it at the bottom of the selected page. A more elegant solution would be a layout view of all your pages where you can drap & drop an element from one page to the desired location on another page. But that would require more work on your end.

2. It would be nice in your help page to include links to some jimdo websites where people have creatively & effectively used some of the advanced features. For example, a person who has never heard of widgets or favicons will have a hard time understanding what they acutally are. But if they see an example, it will quickly become evident.

Concerning your second questions, currently it indeed is possible to hide pages and not singe elements of a Page. Is it not sufficient if it stays this way?

Concerning your third question: that is true, you can't change the background color of the body. We want to make sure that the typo is still readable on the background.

I will try to better explain my suggestions :

* "giving tags to objects and then selecting objects to display depending on tags" : if i use my jimdo website as a blog and each time i create a new text i give it a tag : sport, music, computers..it would be interesting if i could create a page named "Sport" in which i select to display only texts tagged "sport".

* "possibility to make objects unseen like for pages on the menu" : if i create a new article in my blog and don't want to publish it because it isn't completed yet. is it possible to get the possibility to hide it instead of deleting it ? as it is possible for pages.

may you publish your roadmap so that we "users" can better be informed about the future of our favorite webproject ?

Hi Guys,
I agree: The reason I chose Jimdo is because of your emphasis on HTML. I thought TinyMCE did output valid XHTML for those elements like colors, etc. Alternative: I think it is possible to achieve this extra functionality by using FCK editor instead. They claim compliance to XHTML 1.0 http://www.fckeditor.net/
I am not technical so this may not be possible with your service. I just know that other software I use has incorporated FCK with XHTML compliance. But you know best! Thanks and Cheers!

Suggestion:
1. Make it so that elements such as photo gallery can be reused on multiple pages. This would save us from having to upload the same photo more than once, the photo could be called from cache and saves disk space.
2. Make it so we can search for a photo already uploaded and link it into an element.
3. The editor needs the ability to change color and font size of text with out going to html.

Here is the deal...
I have put some IFRAME's in my website which used to have about 10-20 visitors on a daily basis.

This is a site of a chess club and IFRAME's made my site USELESS! Now, I am in the situation that I email Jimdo Support to delete IFRAME's for me.

This is very urgent. As soon as I visit the site, my homepage is immediately redirected to a "framebuster" page!!!!!

Visit this to find out, it was a kind of shock for me to see such a thing happening...!!!

@Rouse: You can of course offer them as file-downloads. Please note, that in JimdoFree there is a 5MB upload limit whereas it is 20 MB in JimdoPro.
You can of course implement your songs via any other widget, too.

Is there a way you can add a feature to upload and play media files (mp3, WMV, AVI) through the sites?

I have some mp3 files that I created and would like to have on my site. The only way I can add them is if I use another free web-host with very little storage(like Yahoo! Geocities 20MB), upload to that site, and try to link to the files with javascript. The only problem with that is with as little storage that they offer (20MB vs. Jimdo's 500MB, and most of my mp3 files are at least 10MB), I am limited on how much I upload to them.

I have a free account. Is this feature available through JimdoPro?

Hello,

It is an urgent question. I nee to upload multiple files, of these following formats: css, pgn, gif, html. These files are "interconnected" in some way and they have to be in the same directory or specific directories. I want to produce an online pgn-games reader for chess with these files.

There does not seem to be such an option. I have a free account.

I just paid for a pro account--- (www.blueelevenresearch.com). I will change the server pointers as soon as I can,(it will take 60 days- a new account) but in the mean time, is it possible for you to let me forward from the domain by disabling the "frame buster"? Please? I gave out the weblocation and really need to able to use it.

Hi,

The only thing stopping me from getting Jimdo Pro is the single email account. Where my domain is currently hosted, they give me unlimited email accounts. I mainly just use one, but it's nice to know that any email addressed to my domain gets to me in the end.

@roberto: I don't think I got you right. After you've signed up for your site on jimdo.com (our homepage) we'll send you a link to your own Jimdo-Page. Here you edit everything of the website (just login with your website). If this doesn't answer your question, you're more than welcome to contact us at support@jimdo.com.

@tammy: you can use your own domain with JimdoPro. You can order JimdoPro by just logging into your site and click on "Jimdo Account" on the right hand side and then "JimdoPro". After you've ordered we'll either transfer the domain or you can change the CNAME, whatever you wish :)

What you've done is amazing. I'm a web design/php developper using Joomla and I found your site today. I really love your concept and the ergonomics.
I think that it would be great to have a blog module also with comments, archive... That would be really great. Currently, it's a good technology for static websites, with few modifications.

Hi,
I really enjoy creating my Jimdo Page and I update it almost every day. It's a great site!

I just have one concern, lately i tried to add a new element, but whenever I try it doesn't show the elements anymore and it starts to hang. (The window that supposedly opens a new element.) I never had this problem before. I tried using different browsers, check cookie and plugin settings but they are all just fine. I even tried to open it on another computer that it really doesnt work. What could be wrong? I want to continue updating my page..But I'm stuck..please help me...thank you so much!

First, I am really enjoying Jimdo. It is my favorite of the web based site builders I have come across.

I do have some questions, however. Please forgive my ignorance. I am completely new to this stuff.

1) I would like to be able to make it so that random text messages rotate in the area below the advertisements, or the area where the ads were once I upgrade. I believe this would require a javascript, but frankly, I do not know for sure and have no idea how to implement one. I noticed earlier that javascript can be added, but I have not had any luck yet. Does anyone know whether this is possible and how I might do it? I am trying to read about it online and having a hard time figuring it out. I just want random quotes to either change with each page refresh or fade in and out on their own.

2)Is there a way to add a script that would expand and contract text for a FAQ page. For instance, something like th FAQ here: http://theflip.com/support_qa.shtml
It would not have to be exactly like that of course, but just so you understnad what I am getting at. Is something like this possible?
