In order to provide the Jimdo Boost services, Jimdo collects, processes and uses personal data in accordance with the German Federal Data Processing Law (BDSG), and from the 25th of May 2018 in accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation. The promotion of our products and provision of information as regards product functions etc. to Jimdo Boost users as well as other interested parties is a natural component thereof. The scope of the processing of the personal data concerned depends on whether the made-with-Dolphin website is merely being visited or where the Jimdo Boost users themselves are concerned. The Jimdo Boost user bears the responsibility towards third parties for compliance with the respective data regulations involved in the use of the Jimdo Boost services.
By activating the Jimdo Boost tracking (Google Analytics™) on a Dolphin website and in turn via visiting that website, automatically generated data shall be collected which cannot be assigned to a specific person( e.g. information as regards the internet browser or operating system; domain name of websites from which the Jimdo site with integrated Jimdo Boost functions has been accessed; number of site visits; average length of visit; sites visited).
In addition to the data specified in the Jimdo privacy statement, if you download and/or use the Jimdo Boost services, Jimdo also automatically collects data as regards the device being used, the operating system and version and the unique device identifier (“UDID”).
Jimdo uses this information in order to improve and optimize the appearance of the Jimdo Boost services and to prevent and minimize abuse and misuse of the Jimdo Boost services. Jimdo also uses this data in order to continually improve the Jimdo Boost services, to update it and in so doing to increase it’s attractiveness and usability.

Google Analytics™ Commissioned data processing agreement: Jimdo has entered into a contract for commissioned data processing with Google and adopts the strict set of regulations as specified by the German Data protection authorities in using Google analytics.
If you visit a Jimdo site upon which Google Analytics™ has been activated as part of the Jimdo Boost services, certain information shall be collected and can be saved by us in the form of a so called “cookie” on your device or computer. This information allows the Jimdo Boost services to recognize your computer/device upon your next visit to the Jimdo site upon which the Jimdo App has been integrated. Cookies are tiny text files stored on your computer/device. Cookies allow us and you to e.g. adapt a website to your preferences or to save your password so that you don’t have to enter your password every time etc..
Data from cookies serves to allow Jimdo to tailor its offer to the needs of the user and to allow the user a more efficient, easier use of the Jimdo Boost Services. Furthermore, data from cookies shall not be used for other purposes or saved outside of the users sphere of influence. Please be aware that the deactivation of cookies in the user/visitor’s browser can lead to substantial functional limitations with regard to the Jimdo products, Jimdo Boost services and other services offered by Jimdo. If you have enabled and/or consented to receiving push notifications from Jimdo Boost on your device, then Jimdo may send you push notifications via said device from time to time in order to keep you up to date and inform you about new events, technical developments, page activity, new site visitors, new analysis reports and updated statistics.
Should you not or no longer wish to receive these notifications you may deactivate them via your device and device settings.
In order to ensure that you receive the required notifications, Jimdo needs to collect specific device data, such as your operating system and/or version and unique device identifier(UDID).
Usage/Traffic Data and In-App Data
In order to provide the Jimdo Boost services, as well as for billing and troubleshooting purposes, the following data shall be saved and processed by Jimdo: the user number, the ip address, the services used/requested, date and time of the use/request.
This usage and traffic data shall also be processed anonymously for statistical purposes. On that basis Jimdo aims to provide the most optimal technical conditions possible for the Jimdo Boost user and the visitors to their Dolphin website, where the Jimdo Boost services have been activated.
In accessing a website of the Jimdo Boost user, that has been created with the Dolphin platform, certain data shall be protocolled/logged (web-server protocol data). The data concerned includes the browser used, the time of the page view, the ip of the user, the language settings and the status that confirms whether or not the site/page has been successfully accessed. This data is exclusively used for statistical purposes and where appropriate for error analysis. This data shall be deleted or where appropriate and necessary anonymized at the latest after a period of 6 months.
Storage period and Deletion of Data
Upon termination of the contract Jimdo shall, where legally permissible, delete the personal data as well as the contract data of the Jimdo Boost user. The deletion shall take place at the end of the calendar year that follows the year in which the contractual relationship is terminated. A blockage of the data shall replace the deletion of our usage data, insofar as a complete deletion conflicts with legal, statutory or contractual data retention periods.
Administrative Access to your Jimdo Boost App Data
Please be aware that the Jimdo support team members can also be authorized in specific cases to access the administrative section (menu) of the Jimdo Boost services when fulfilling customer service requests and tracking errors. This necessarily grants them the possibility to view all parts of the Jimdo Boost statistics. All members of our Jimdo support team are regularly trained in privacy and data protection sensibility and confidentiality.
We are happy to inform you as to what personal information we have saved on you. This information is free, shall be processed immediately and is usually transmitted to you via Email (also via post upon request). In order to receive applicable and detailed information, please provide us with specifications as to the personal data or type thereof concerned. In order to ensure that the person requesting the aforementioned information is the person they present themselves to be, we require a proof of identity. This can be in the form of a copied identification document. Please blacken out or remove serial numbers and passport numbers from such copies. These copies shall only be used for the purpose of identification and for the processing your request. Of course you can also make this information request via the post. In that case we shall fulfill your request via return of post.
Withdrawal of Consent
Your consent for the collection/processing/use of your personal data can be withdrawn for the future, at any time via sending an email with your request to firstname.lastname@example.org. Where consent is withdrawn for the use of personal data, the use of the Jimdo Boost services shall necessarily no longer be possible.
Rectification, deletion or blocking
Furthermore, you also have a right to rectification, deletion or blocking of personal data. Any such requests can be sent to us in textform i.e. per post (to the address listed below) or via the following email address: email@example.com. Where there is a suspicion of any unlawful form of data processing, users also have the right to submit a complaint to the responsible supervisory authority. All data stored by us shall be deleted as soon as they are no longer required for their intended purpose. A blockage of the data shall replace the deletion of our usage data, insofar as a complete deletion conflicts with legal, statutory or contractual data retention periods.
If Jimdo is acquired by another company, information including personal data could be transferred to the acquiring party within the framework of the relevant data protection provisions.
