What is Stripe?

Stripe is a simple and secure way for your Jimdo online shop to accept credit card and debit payments online.

Note: The Stripe payment processor is only available for JimdoBusiness subscribers. In Germany and Austria, Stripe is available as a Payment Options Plus add-on for JimdoPro and JimdoBusiness customers.

Why are we so excited about Stripe?

We know a number of you have been patiently waiting for us to add Stripe as a payment option, and today is the day!

We’re big believers that creating something successful doesn’t have to be difficult and boring, and Stripe wholeheartedly agrees with us. The process of integrating Stripe to your Jimdo website is easy and quick—the signup form takes less than 5 minutes to complete and once the form is submitted, you can accept payments immediately.

What else is so great about Stripe? We’re glad you asked. Customers won’t be redirected away from your website when they check out. Stripe checkout is completely unbranded. This means your customer won’t see they’re paying with Stripe, but just a proper credit card processor. Any sales will be processed via an SSL secure connection. This protects your customers and reassures them your website is secure.

How much does Stripe cost?

Stripe takes a simple and transparent approach to transaction fees. You won’t be charged a monthly fee or setup fee. Instead, they charge you a flat rate per successful sale. This means you only get charged once you’ve made a successful sale. They’ve also recently updated their rates across the Europe Union (only 1.4% + €0.25/20p/1.8kr for European cards and 2.9% + €0.25/20p/1.8kr for Non-European cards). For specific country rates, select the country in the list below to take you to Stripe’s pricing pages.

Is Stripe available in my country?

At this time, Stripe integration for Jimdo stores is available for customers in: Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, UK, USA, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and Spain.

What credit cards does Stripe accept?

Stripe is an easy option for collecting credit cards. U.S. businesses can accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club. Australian, Canadian, European, and Japanese businesses can accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
