Good news for everyone who works with appointments: Bookings is now available in Jimdo Creator too. It lets your customers book appointments or events directly through your website, and you manage everything conveniently from your Jimdo dashboard.
Whether it’s consulting, coaching, treatments or classes, you set when you’re available, create your offerings and keep an eye on your bookings.
The key facts at a glance

- Bookings Lite is included in every paid Creator plan, at no extra cost.
- Bookings Essentials is a paid upgrade with features like unlimited events, reminders, buffer time and rescheduling.
- Customers can pay online or in person.
- Bookings is launching in 20 EU countries, including Germany and Austria. We’re rolling it out in phases, so it becomes available at different times.
What is Jimdo Bookings?
With Jimdo Bookings, you offer appointments or events that your customers book directly through your website. You set your availability, create different event types and manage your upcoming bookings from your Jimdo account.
Unlike most Creator features, you don’t set up Bookings in the website editor, but directly in the dashboard. There you create events, maintain your availability and see your bookings, independently of how you edit the pages and content of your website.

Bookings Lite and Bookings Essentials: the two versions
There are two variants, and the difference lies mainly in the range of features.
Bookings Lite is included in every paid Creator plan, at no extra cost. It gives you everything you need to get started.
Bookings Essentials is a paid upgrade with additional features for anyone who manages more appointments and events.

A note on Bookings Lite: a “Powered by Jimdo” badge appears in the checkout and in the emails to your customers. With Bookings Essentials you can remove it on your website. In the emails to your customers, however, it always stays, even with Essentials.
The locked features are already visible on the Lite plan, each with an upgrade button that takes you straight to checkout. You’ll find all the details on the versions in the help article on Bookings Lite and Essentials.
How to set up Bookings in Creator
Setting up happens in two steps: first in the dashboard, then on the website.
- Log in to your Jimdo account and select the right website.
- Click Bookings in the menu on the left.
- Create your events and set your availability.
- Open your website in the Creator editor and add the Bookings element to the page where visitors should book.
Once the element is in place, your visitors see your booking options directly on the website. If you manage several websites in your account, you set up Bookings separately for each website.
You’ll find the complete guide here: Set up Bookings in Jimdo Creator.
Timezone and absences
Your timezone determines how your availability is interpreted. You manage it under Bookings > Settings. For new accounts it’s taken automatically from the browser, but you can adjust it manually.
Handy: your customers always see available times in their own local timezone, including in the booking confirmation. Customers in different locations therefore see different times for the same availability, and that’s exactly how it’s meant to be.
When you’re unavailable, you create an absence. During that period, customers can’t book, which is ideal for holidays, personal appointments or breaks.
Event types: fixed session or open slot
When you create an event, you choose between two types:
- Fixed session: for an event on a specific date and time, with the option for several people to attend. Your customers sign up for exactly that session.
- Open slot: for 1:1 appointments that your customers pick freely from your general availability.
For each event you also set the description, price, location and payment method.

Payments: online or in person
You decide how your customers pay. Depending on the options available, they pay online directly in the booking process, or you arrange payment in person. For online payment, common methods like cards and PayPal are available, depending on your setup and your country. Online payment availability varies by country.

Managing bookings
Once customers book, you manage everything in the Bookings area of your dashboard. You click on an appointment and open the details panel on the right. There you see all participants and their contact details, and with “Contact all attendees” you can email everyone who booked that appointment.
With every new or cancelled booking, you automatically get a notification by email.
Rescheduling (Bookings Essentials only): if an appointment needs to move, open it, click the ⋮ menu in the bottom right and choose “Reschedule”. You set a new date and start time and confirm. Your customers automatically get a notification with the updated appointment details. The end time is based on the original duration and can’t be changed separately.
Cancelling: to cancel, open the appointment, click the ⋮ menu and choose “Delete”. The appointment is removed and all participants are notified automatically. Important: a cancellation does not refund the payment automatically. If payment was made online, you refund the amount separately under Payments; for PayPal payments, directly in your PayPal account.
You’ll find more on this here: Manage your bookings and Reschedule an appointment.
